The City of Imperial is the center of activities for the Imperial Valley. Imperial is located 111 miles East of San Diego, 210 miles SE of Los Angeles. Imperial is the location for many of the valley's services and activities. Imperial is home to the Imperial County Airport, Imperial Industrial Park, the largest water district (Imperial Irrigation District) in the Western Hemisphere, Imperial Valley College, and the Imperial Valley Expo - California Midwinter Fair & Fiesta.
Yet, Imperial still has the lowest city tax rate in the county.
